Another doe might adopt an orphaned fawn if they’re old enough to survive on their own.

However, the chances are pretty small since a mother deer hides her fawn when she goes out to graze, and remembers where she left it and goes back to it. Now, if something bad happens and the mother doesn’t return then the fawn could starve to death, or maybe even wander off until a predator gets it.
