The primary objective of Coilover suspension in automobiles is to increase performance by decreasing body roll and lowering the ride height. This results in better traction, more efficient handling due to the car’s mass not swaying around, and reduced drag.

Best Tacoma Coilovers

  • Fox Shocks 880-06-418 Rear Coilover Shock Absorbers Fits Toyota Tacoma

These are huge shocks. I couldn’t be more pleased. The installation was quite straightforward. Adjustments are simple to achieve the ideal height, and they ride like a dream. They also look great, and the fox stickers easily provide 5hp to any vehicle.

  • 05- Current Tacoma Front Coilover Shock Kit from Icon Vehicle Dynamics (05+ Tacoma Extended Travel RR C/O w/Adjusters)

I must admit that I was apprehensive considering the pricing of Icon’s goods in comparison to many other suspension firms I examined before purchasing these coil overs.

I put these on a 2009 Toyota Tacoma 4×4 double cab extended bed. These are by far the greatest suspension upgrades I’ve ever installed on any vehicle, and I’ve lifted a dozen various vehicles over the years.

The truck rides and handles better than it did when it was new. I left them at the manufacturing height, which is around 2 inches “in terms of lift from driver to passenger side, the truck is level. If you have the right tools, installation isn’t too difficult. It’s also convenient that they come pre-assembled. No coil compressor is required.

Simply jack up the truck, remove the steering arm, detach the sway bar, and stuff them in! I was able to get the truck aligned at a local shop, and they were able to get it within spec with my factory upper control arms at that height setting.

Now all I have to do is save up for the rear shocks and progressive add-a-leaf to get this thing level again.

I installed them myself and did some serious trail riding a few weeks afterward. Everything was wonderful, especially the increased clearance provided by the frame.

Just keep in mind that these are designed for off-road suspension, and you’ll ‘feel’ the road more now since they ride rougher than stock. So if stock is too rough for you, you won’t like these.

  • WULF 3.5″ Front 2″ Rear Leveling Lift Kit with Control Arms and Bilstein Struts and Shocks compatible with 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma 6LUG 2WD 4X4

I bought it intending to install it myself but plans changed, so I contacted a local firm that specialized in lifts for installation.

When I asked them about the lift, they said it was fantastic. Not all kits have Bilstein shocks, a leaf, and arms.

When I drove the truck, I could instantly feel the change, and it has the look that I’ve wanted since I got it. Just put on 33 x 10.50 mud tires and you’re done!

Coilover shocks dampen the suspension and suspend the vehicle’s weight. The inbuilt coil spring can be adjusted for preload and ride height and is pre-leveled right out of the box.

Experience the tremendous performance and precise control that Factory Series Coilovers Reservoir shocks provide for yourself.

The external reservoir maintains the oil at the correct temperature for operation.

I wish I’d realized I needed to buy the $20 spanner wrench and upper ball joint covers separately…

This is not a purchase I would have made. When a corporation fails to incorporate minor, necessary components, I lose faith in its objectives. I hope this was useful. Instead, get the fox shocks.

  • Rough Country 3.5″ Vertex Adjustable Coilovers for 05-22 Toyota Tacoma – 689035

Each shock has a big 2.5-inch diameter “The competition is dwarfed by a large diameter piston and a high-flow 22mm chrome hardened piston rod.

When it comes to investing in a high-end shock, you’ll be glad to learn that Rough Country’s massive 2.5” shock is available “The piston design is stronger and provides 56% more fluid capacity than the usual 2.0 reservoir shock.

  • Eibach E86-82-007-01-22 Pro-Truck Coilover Stage 2 (Front Coilovers + Rear Shocks) 2005 to 2015 TOYOTA Tacoma.

On my ’19 OR, I recently had a pair of Eibach PRO TRUCK Coilover 2.0 Stage 2 put. This is their most recent foray into the “truck world,” giving a fully adjustable genuine Coilover strut for our Tacos.

I just wanted to share my initial thoughts on them because they’re a relatively new addition to the market. I’m starting with their PRO LIFT Stage 1 kit. The PRO LIFT kit was my first aftermarket lift/suspension improvement for my truck, and for the price, it’s the finest bang for your money, in my opinion.

I was blown away by how beautifully the truck rode right away after installation. PRO LIFT reduced the front brake nosedive and smoothed out the bumps and dips. I used that package for 10,000 miles before upgrading to the Coilover 2.0 Stage 2.

Stage 2 has a much smoother ride. I’m astonished at how beautifully the coils have been revalved to provide an even smoother ride.

On the road, the truck feels even more “grounded.” Driving the same roads to and from work, I was astonished at how much more dampening the Stage 2 provides; the minor bumps and dips that I used to experience with Stage 1 are greatly decreased.

The improved shocks are even more noticeable on the terrain. I installed them on Thursday afternoon and completed the first shakedown trail run on Saturday morning. 2n17x to Pilot Rock is a more difficult trail.

The overall “softer” revalving of Stage 2 made for much better on-trail mannerisms, and more comfortable trailing in the Stage 2s.

Overall, I’m quite impressed with the performance of the Stage 2 coils both on and off the road. Eibach’s engineers have created a high-performance Coilover that isn’t too expensive.
