[Honest Reviews] Best Power Supply For Ryzen 5 5600x and rtx 3060

It has never been easier to select a CPU for a new build, especially one geared toward gaming. With the debut of the Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 Series processors, AMD has now completely trounced any challenge from Intel.

CPUs from AMD and ARM now outperform similarly priced Intel counterparts not only in terms of multi-core performance but also in terms of single-core speed and energy economy.

It’s also easy to select an AMD CPU from the available selections.

While the other Zen 3 processors lack a stock cooler, the Ryzen 5 5600X gives the most value for its price; it also comes with a cooler that the others do not.

If you insist on having a complete Core Complex (CCX), then the Ryzen 7 5800X is a fine option with eight cores, 16 threads, and 32 MB of L3 Cache. However, the Ryzen 7 5800X’s price leaves much to be desired when it comes to value.

Thor 850 Certified 850W RGB Power Supply with a LiveDash OLED Panel from ASUS ROG 850

As rock-solid as they get, this is the real deal.

It’s easier to focus on the cords you need and disregard the ones you don’t thanks to the entirely modular design. Some of the cables are rather thick, but the braided design makes them easy to manage. All of the extra cables may be thrown in the included bag so you don’t have to worry about them again.

This PSU has a few unique features, such as a magnetic ROG strix logo that can be attached to the unit.

Since I have a PSU shroud, it makes little difference to me, but if you’re looking for a striking PSU, this is a fantastic option.

Moreover, a 10-year warranty is unbeatable. Yes, the price is a little higher than other options, but if you’re seeking for quality and long-term value, this is the best option. This product comes highly recommended by me.

  • Super Flower Leadex III Gold 650W 80+ Gold, ECO Fanless & Silent Mode, Full Modular Power Supply, Fluid Dynamic Bearing Fan,SF-650F14HG (650W)

One of the most valid products on the market in terms of line stability and safety. At the same price with other products (excluding some Seasonic platforms), it wins hands down. Considerable at a price not exceeding 100 euros.

For those already familiar with the world of pc configurations, this review may be completely useless, and I will not give a detailed technical description (I refer you to the technical data sheet on the manufacturer’s website for that!).

However, it seems only right to explain to those who know little and nothing how much this product could make the difference between a successful configuration and one that will last a short time. The butterfly that I mentioned in the title is perhaps a brand unknown to most.

This is the Super Flower brand, a Chinese company specialized for over twenty years in the manufacture of power supplies.

This information alone is not enough to do justice to what is counted among the best companies in the world for the production of these components: if you are a fan of the EVGA brand, you will be pleased to know that many platforms of their latest power supplies are of the aforementioned Super Flower, this to guarantee the quality of the products, and the seriousness of the company itself.

Having clarified the presentation credentials of the Super Flower Brand, I go by to say that Japanese components are used for the main deck, while for the secondary deck we have Taiwanese components.

Now, this could mean everything and nothing for you, so I will try to explain it in simpler words: what I said in the previous sentence, translates into excellent stability of both the main 12V line and the secondary ones at 3V and 5V; in even simpler words, you will have a product that sends current to your components in an excellent way, and that unless you catch a faulty specimen, it will never give you problems.

Ripple suppression is excellent (ripple is a “noise” on the lines that dirty the passage of current, and that leads to damage to the components.

And if you were wondering, it is an essential parameter, it cannot be eliminated, but only deleted as much as possible!), which should never be underestimated when choosing a power supply.

To summarize this review in one sentence: “If it costs less than 100 euros, and 550W is enough for the configuration, you can buy it with your eyes closed!”.

As I always repeat to anyone who entrusts me with a configuration, I never compromise on the choice of power supply: mediocrity, in this case, only harms. It is not a question of being fond of one brand rather than another, but of being sure of what you are buying.

There are very few other power supplies capable of competing with this in the same price range, and for such a delicate and important component at the same time, relying on a brand that sells certainty is the bare minimum.

Therefore, I recommend purchasing this power supply without hesitation. Like Seasonic, it is a solution that rarely disappoints!

Best Power Supply For Ryzen 5 5600x

  • Corsair SF Series, SF600, 600 Watt, Fully Modular Power Supply, 80+ Gold Certified

Over the previous two years, I’ve used this power supply in over 50 projects.

We’ve had zero problems with any of the 50 thus yet. Because we guarantee our work, this is a wonderful perk.

Normally, I’m more concerned about the power supply (PS), but now that we don’t use spinning disks, it’s the fans. I blame Corsair for this (we’ve been using their power supplies exclusively for 10 years).

It’s lovely.

It’s perfect.

It’s more than enough for today’s high-end gaming PCs.

Workstations can rely on it.

It’s not too expensive (in the business world, teens looking for a gaming PC – might have a different opinion).

Everybody I know has one of these showy boxes and velvet pouches (and likes).

Ac power is no problem for them. That alone has saved us tens of thousands of dollars in onsite component repairs.

I was almost successful in obtaining an RMA once (I discovered a board defect and decided to cancel the RMA), but Corsair was “business-friendly” and prepared to assist, so they quickly provided an RMA.

The only drawback I can think of is that it’s best to buy them directly from the manufacturer rather than through a distributor, as retail prices are nearly identical and shipping and warranty service are better.

That may be different if you buy a large number at once, however we only buy 5 to 10 at a time. There are a lot of velvet bags in my collection today, but no additional swag. I’d want to get an invitation to a business party or at least a t-shirt at some point.

During its peak performance, this product was a joy to use. The fan’s noise level was quite low. I didn’t have any problems with power. Ryzen 2600, Radeon 580X, Ubit AX200 wifi 6 card, 4x120mm fans, fan splitter, and no leds in a Corsair 4000D airflow case are all running on an ASUS ROG PRO WIFI B450 motherboard.

Computers are cleaned every two weeks (not much dust after that time). While my Linux system was idling, it broke down totally.

In order to properly test the power supply, I disconnected the PSU from the system and connected pins 15 and 16 on the ATX power connection with a wire. When I plugged it back in and switched it on, the only voltage I received was 0.430V, instead of 3.3V, from pin 2 connected to pin 24 by the multimeter.

One of the most compact power supplies on the market, although it produces more watts than most of the others. Cables are plentiful, and the construction is top-notch.

Despite the fact that part of the 8-pin connectors are actually 4+4 connectors that form an 8-pin, the whole equipment is modular, thus the cables are a little goofy.

Some have additional connectors, such the ATX connector, which has a four-pin extension cable attached to the cable itself. Nobody with a 700-watt power supply will utilize a 4-pin CPU, but at least the choice is there.

The guidebook, Iit’s awful, to say the least. It’s the most ambiguous guidebook I’ve ever encountered. The PCIe 8-pin cables are identified and even color-coded, however, the rest of the cables are just plain black with no distinguishing features whatsoever. One 8-pin is for your CPU’s power socket and the other is PCIe, however both have the same number of pins but are used for distinct purposes.

In general, this is a fantastic piece of equipment, but the instruction manual left me traumatized.
