This card was delivered to me in brand-new condition. It’s probably the largest card in the planet, if not the world. For my Fractal mid-tower computer case, I had to move a fan in order to accommodate it. It is advised that you use a large tower case with this card.
For this card, you’ll need a power supply with a maximum output of 1000 watts. A terrible beast! That’s how it appears in the case. While playing Flight Sim 2020, the card has crashed three times. I’m using a 1920 x 1080 monitor.
The card performed well at Ultra settings in FS 2020, but the crashes were a cause for concern. Other games have not crashed and screamed in visuals, unlike this one. Only FS 2020 crashed, thus I’m wondering if it’s a bug in the FS 2020 software. It appears that drivers are kept up to date with the latest versions of Windows and games, which is wonderful.
For me, it was a bargain at $999, but I wouldn’t pay more than $2,000 for it unless you have unlimited resources. For the most part, I’m happy with the card because I no longer have to worry about poor gameplay when I download and play the latest games! It’s a fantastic card!

There is a little confusion in AMD’s graphics card frequency specifications, but they’re actually rather useful. The Game Clock and the Boost Clock frequencies are listed on the standard sheet. The Boost Clock is merely the max frequency – you’ll only see this frequency during short bursts of work. In the majority of games, AMD expects the graphics card to be located at the Game Clock.
There is a Game Clock of 1,815MHz and a Boost Clock of up to 2,105MHz for the AMD RTX 6800 graphics card. Although we detected clock speeds above the Boost Clock during our testing, they remained there.
If the pre-release driver we tested the graphics card on has a problem, we’d like to know.
That the RX 6800 was able to double in size from 251mm2 and 10.3 billion transistors on the 5700 XT to 519mm2 and 26.8 billion transistors on the RX 6800 is a credit to AMD’s improvements, as the board power only went from 225W to 250W, but clock rates were boosted.
And, in our testing, the ASIC power consumption peaked at 213W, which indicates that further driver upgrades and aftermarket board designs could further enhance performance.
The new cooler design, on the other hand, has resulted in significantly lower temperatures.
Temperatures peaked at 75C throughout our tests, with the GPU hotspot reaching only 88C. Keeping an eye on your temperature is a good idea, but you should focus on the former.
During regular gaming, AMD has informed us that the hotspot temperature of these new GPUs is likely to rise to 110 degrees Celsius, which is within specification and will not cause any issues. The graphics card won’t explode if you see that number.
AMD’s Ryzen 6000-class processors come with two performance-enhancing features: Rage Mode and Smart Access Memory. The Radeon RX 6800 doesn’t have the option to use the former, but it improves power limitations and the game clock to offer it a minor performance advantage over the previous generation.
AMD has told us that using Rage Mode and not manually overclocking would not breach your warranty, so go ahead and enable it.
You can use Smart Access Memory to access the GPU memory of your AMD Ryzen 5000 processor with the 500-series AMD motherboard and either the AMD Radeon 6800 or the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, rather than only pre-mapped memory. In some games, this can increase performance by up to 10%. An exciting addition, but it’s a hassle to get it working.
If you don’t have a UEFI-compatible installation of Windows 10, you’ll need to upgrade your BIOS before you can use it. Once you do, you’ll need to disable CSM.
As a final step, you’ll need to enable Above 4G Decoding and Re-Size BAR Support in the BIOS’ advanced settings. Using this function is only recommended for advanced users, thus we didn’t do any extensive testing for this evaluation. At a later time, we will delve more deeper into this functionality.
Because the Radeon RX 6800 performs so well even without SAM enabled, you won’t be missing out on much by disabling it. There is, however, a more advanced option available for those who choose it.
Other than that, AMD’s outstanding FidelityFX suite of capabilities is still intact, as well as several quality features like the Radeon Boost, which decreases resolution when moving to boost framerates.
The DLSS technology from Nvidia is the most notable omission from this iteration, especially in light of the addition of ray tracing (Deep Learning Super Sampling).

Out of the box, it operated flawlessly. With the stock fan curve set at 35 percent maximum fan speed, I’ve seen temperatures peak at 85C/95C when the GPU is fully loaded.
Because I wanted it to be a little bit cooler, I used Adrenalin to establish a more aggressive fan curve.
Compared to other cards in its pricing range, this one is excellent. When playing Fortnite at 1440p Epic settings, I get over 100 frames per second. When playing RDR2 at 1440p High settings with HDR enabled, I get 80-90+ frames per second. When playing GTA V at 1440p Ultra settings, I get 80-90 frames per second.
The Radeon Image Sharpening was one of the features I was most impressed with. I discovered that Fallout 4 appears to be under-optimized for 1440p playback. Even with the graphics turned down, I was only able to get an average frame rate of about 45 frames per second when playing on Ultra.
However, when I reduced the resolution to 1080p and enabled Radeon Image Sharpening, I was able to reach over 100 FPS and the image sharpening made 1080p seem just as nice as 1440p.
When more demanding games come out in the future, you can simply crank down the resolution and apply Radeon Image Sharpening to make it look sharp. Radeon Image Sharpening will give this card a long lifespan.
Although I’ve read about driver troubles with this card for the past year or so, I’ve had no problems whatsoever with it thus far and have pushed it through its paces.
To top it off, there is a blacked out card that looks beautiful. I can’t say enough good things about this card.

So far, this video card has shown to be excellent. I haven’t played any games on it yet, but they all appear to run at their highest possible settings. I intend to die (again) in Dark Souls 3 at some point in the future. Diablo 4 is coming out in November or December of this year, so I bought it in advance of that. It ought to be able to handle it.
In terms of volume, the card isn’t overpowering. My Ryzen Wraith cooling fan is the only one I can hear. When using basic productivity applications, the temperature is roughly 34C. The card has a target level of 83C, which I have not yet stressed.
The FireStorm program can be downloaded from Zotac’s site. You may use that tool to automatically overclock it in a safe manner. Using the same application, you may boost the clock speeds of up to four graphics cards simultaneously. This card and my Zotac 1050 Ti were overclocked without incident.

I recently purchased a new graphics card for my PC in order to improve its speed and, more specifically, its resolution.
Recently, I invested in a 4K HDR display and wanted to maximize its enhanced visual capabilities.
That’s where this card comes in. Stable 1440p resolution can be achieved with relative ease, depending on your machine and the applications you’re trying to play. At 4k resolution, even low-end games have no issues. I was able to play Doom Eternal at 1440p with a consistent FPS above 60 even during the most intense combat scenes.
In order to play everything in 4k, this card may not be able to meet all of your needs. However, as a 1440p card, this pricing cannot be beaten. For this level, I’d give it a thumbs up.
The card’s HDR is fine, but it could be better. This isn’t a problem with the card, but rather with the software that’s trying to use it. HDR video and gaming are possible, but each game handles it differently, and Windows itself is different, too.
