Champion 3400-Watt Dual Fuel RV Ready Portable Inverter Generator with Electric Start
This generator is really quiet and costs half the cost of the Honda but features enough power to run my 30-foot travel trailer including the AC (13,500 BTU).
I contacted Champion’s tech for guidance and they were really helpful. I have added a short video clip with pictures (that might help you too).
How did I connect mine?
I put a 12-foot hose between the regulator and flow valve.
I placed a quick connect on the trailer and on the original regulator too. That allowed me to run the generator on gasoline, propane bottle and the trailer’s propane system.
These amazing specs made this generator the perfect camping generator. There’s no need to carry additional fuel!
My trailer’s propane system features dual 20lb propane bottles. That is sufficient to power my 3-day weekend trip in economy mode running only during the campground’s generator hours.
That’s not all. You can use this generator as a back-up generator in your home too. I installed a 30 AMP RV plug next to the sub panel in my garage.
If an extended power outage, I will open the main breaker then be able to safely plug it into the house to back feed power to the furnace some lights and the refrigerator.
This is a great addition to my house & camping equipment.
If you’re looking for the best small portable generator then I highly suggest buying the Honda • Honda EU2200i.
Even with 2 running I can seamlessly talk on my cell phone 10 feet away – You see? The one I have is now 4 years old and because Honda makes them so simple to maintain it still appears to be brand new.
When paired, my two Honda’s can power at the same time the following:
13,500 BTU AIRCONDITIONER
FULL SIZE REFRIGERATOR
65-inch SAMSUNG Q80 T.V.
NAKAMICHI SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM
…and still only revs up briefly when I use the MICROWAVE.
In summary, this unit is highly versatile as it suits different applications and appliances, good fuel efficiency – thanks to the use of an Eco-throttle system, supplies a clean and stable power.
It is one of the quietest, and only runs around 48-57 dbA, which makes it 100% quiet.
DuroMax XP13000HX Dual Fuel Portable Generator
I bought this model so I can charge my Tesla in case there is power outage.
It has a really strong 500cc engine and rock steady voltage from the generator.
I bought a 100-gallon (420 lbs) propane tank for backup, it should run the generator for about a week.
The part I don’t like about this generator is that the 77db noise level and having to change the oil every 20 hours.
Since I’m burning propane, I figure that I stretch my oil change interval to 100 hours with a synthetic oil.
I’m presently running straight weight mineral 30 to break the engine in.
A well-built, US supported gen set.
